Genine Larin

As a visual artist I have observed that what I seek to represent can only be expressed during the making process and is beyond words or cognitive thought. ​Through sculpture, installation, video, and performance, this research explores the practices and processes of the female artists Louise Bourgeois, Carolee Schneemann, Ana Mendieta, and Lygia Clark. As an artist I have appropriated terminology as metaphors drawn from many disciplines, including psychology, as creative material in order to explore my sense of self. This study is in essence an autoethnography that explores my own experiences as an artist. ​
